Digital marketing goes beyond Google, websites, and social media. It is the tools, strategies, and research that make digital marketing successful. My digital marketing fundamentals class has increased my knowledge and skills when it comes to the online world. Some things I’ve learned include social media marketing, search engine marketing, online reputation management, and more.


We were instructed to use these methods to start building a marketing strategy for a company of our choice. This company became the foundation for our learning. Starting we needed to understand our chosen company’s history, goals, and mission statement. I was lucky enough that my company did already have a lot of this put into place. However, in week three of our class we needed to make a competitor website analysis scoreboard. While I was working on this project, I realized that even though my company had a clear messaging they lacked in other areas compared to their competitors.


I’ve already learned so much in the digital marketing fundamentals class and I am excited to learn more as I go through this master’s program. I am eager to see my portfolio site build and grow as I add more projects. It will be a great way to see how much I’ve learned and grown throughout this program.
